Dirty Spokes - Fort Yargo 6 and 12hr Race

We had a great showing at the 2nd Dirty Spokes Race of the year. More than 300 racers came out to Fort Yargo to race on Saturday. The course saw a lot of rain on Friday evening/Saturday morning. At the start we had good weather, unfortunately it didn't hold up. The rain made for some interesting conditions to say the least. Fort Yargo has a lot of rooty sections that are filled with quick/intense - drop then climb whoops. These low areas were just holding water as the rains picked up throughout the afternoon - riders were blasting through hub deep puddles in these whoop sections. Climbing was no easier matter either as the riders rear wheels failed to hook up - sliding all over the place when climbing certain sections. It was slow wet racing but everybody was smiling and having fun on their bikes.

The adverse conditions made for a good day of wrenching as brake pads, cables, and drive trains were in constant need of attention. At one point I think me and Dan replaced like 5 or 6 brake pad sets in 30 minutes. Fresh Bike Service was pumped to help out again at another great Dirty Spokes event.
